Make Nature-based Learning Possible This Fall
Every fall, we head back into schools to get classes outside with us. This fall, we plan to make 8000 nature-based learning experiences possible for the youth of Greater Rochester.
When a teacher calls us to schedule a nearby nature leasson or field study, we want to say “yes”. You can make that possible.
Your donation contributes to:

Councilmember Gruber Supports Nature-based Learning
We’re honored to share that Councilmember Mitch Gruber has made a generous $1,500 contribution to Rochester Ecology Partners through his discretionary city funds. We are incredibly grateful for his support and recognition of the importance of connecting young people in Rochester to nature, learning, and their community. His contribution will have a significant impact through our nature-based learning programs.
Yellow-Spotted Salamander: Species Spotlight
Week one of our species spotlight shines upon the spotted salamander, or yellow-spotted salamander. Their latin name Ambystoma maculatum, is derived from the terms “amblys” (blunt), “stoma” (mouth), and “macula” (spot). Within the class of amphibians, spotted salamanders fit within the order Caudata, and the family Ambystomatidae, which encompasses all lunged salamanders.
