Neighborhood Nature: February Break EcoExpedition

Join us over winter break for hands-on nature-based activities and winter inquiry. Come in your snow gear, ready for a day of exploration. We will investigate winter habitats, trek through Highland Park, build shelters, and go sledding. Come dressed for a day of outdoor adventure! No snow? No worries! We have plenty of activities to choose from for a fun day.

Who: Any 1st – 3rd grade students

When: February 21 , from 9am – 3pm

Where: 1100 South Goodman, Genesee Community charter School – Flour City  Campus

Cost: Sliding scale between $60.00 to $10.00 per day.
We ask you to choose an amount that fits your budget and supports the sustainability of the program.


To enroll your child:

  • Please register and pay online.
  • You will receive a waiver form in your email via SmartWaiver, please ensure you respond.

Other Important Information:

  • Please send your child dressed in warm boots, gloves, hat, snow pants and jacket each day, with an extra set of gloves and warm base layers if needed.
  • Please send your child with a lunch, snack, and water bottle each day.
  • Our Winter Break mini camps will take place outdoors but indoor warm-up spaces will be available for use if needed.

Additional Details

We will do everything we can to accommodate children that would like to participate. Please let us know if there is anything that we can do to accommodate your child.

Participants will need to come dressed to be outside the whole time. We have hats, gloves, snow pants and boots that can be borrowed with advance notice.

Participants should bring their own lunch. We can provide a lunch option if necessary.
