This spring Rochester Ecology Partners was nominated for an Environmental Innovation Award through the Seneca Park Zoo Society’s efforts to honor local and regional innovators working to create solutions to current environmental issues.
The Rochester Ecology Partners team members attended the Awards Ceremony and Symposium event on March 29th to celebrate the award winners and connect with people seeking sustainable solutions and working for a greener tomorrow.
Chris Widmaier, REP’s executive director, believes that “our community is stronger when we come together to learn about and elevate the work everyone is doing.” He added, “This initiative is well aligned with REP’s Environmental Community Analysis Project as it is a much-needed effort to connect and inspire action.”
The event included time for organizations to share what they do and Rochester Ecology Partners spent time talking about our Nature Based Learning in Schools program while learning about how birds of prey are used as an environmentally friendly method of keeping gulls from the WM High Acres Landfill and Recycling Center and the efforts of the Brighton High School Climate Club to reduce emissions and inspire their classmates to act.
We congratulate all award winners and appreciate everyone that made the awards possible.
